designer / florist / grower

Kate spent her earliest years in the lush fields of the English countryside and now calls the golden hills of Northern California home. As a journalist and writer, she’s drawn to the language of flowers and their central role in our most sacred rituals and ceremonies. She is committed to sustainable floristry practices and currently learning to grow flowers in her plot at a local community garden. She also writes a newsletter, “Making Sense,” where she reflects on the history, literature, and culture of the senses, interviews artists about their sensory worlds, and makes them a bouquet inspired by the conversation.
